She's very popular on Facebook.
Personally, I think it's because of those great motivational blurbs she posts.

I need to be careful about teasing her though...
She may come looking for me a whup my ass.

Sunday Night Bonus

Cedartown, Georgia.

(For Jess)

There's a little restaurant on the main drag called Zorba's. They don't serve alcoholic beverages there, but it just so happens, there's a liquor store almost directly across the street.
You can bring your own bottle of booze to the restaurant, and they'll bring the soda-pops and extra cups of ice for mixing.

Win.

Saturday Morning Coffee #106

Very nice.
A quiet morning at home sipping good coffee.

I wasn't supposed to make it home until today sometime, but I got things wrapped in Florida earlier than I thought, and MSgt D wasn't home in Valdosta this weekend, so there was no reason to stop over there for dinner. I pushed through and made it home by about 10 pm.

Mrs B and I have a perpetual poker game going on the dining room table. It's been running for about six months now. Whenever someone gets down to their last few chips, their opponent starts to feel sorry for them and gives them a portion of their own chips so they can keep playing.
It's not about the winning or losing, we both have good and bad nights at the poker table. It's just about the time we spend together.

Talking with a good friend, a little country music in the background and a couple beers.
Life doesn't get any better than that.

Saturday Morning Coffee #105

We've still got that bird feeder hanging outside the kitchen window.

We haven't seen the chipmunks trying to get at it lately. As a matter of fact, we haven't seen much of the chipmunks at all this spring. Maybe the neighbor's cat finally got lucky. I'd be surprised though, the neighbor's cat is kind of a lazy fat-ass. He'll sit on the far side of the yard, staring at the bird feeder, until the Blue Jays run his ass off.

So we pulled the turtle-back off Mrs B's Titan. We put it on the back deck until we can figure out what to do with it. Just a couple days ago, we watched through the kitchen window while some little brown bird stared at his reflection in the smoked glass on the side of the turtle-back. Every few seconds he would get angry at that other bird he was staring down and charge at him and give him a furious pecking. He would then back off and examine his opponent for injuries, waiting for him to give up and fly away. The other bird would simply stare back at him with equal defiance. After a few more seconds of this, he would charge in and do battle again.

Thumpscrabble
Mrs B - Honey, come look at this.
Thumpscrabble
Mrs B - What the hell is that bird doing?
Thumpscrabble
MSgt B - Looks like he's defending his territory.
Thumpscrabble
Mrs B - Not too bright, is he?
Thumpscrabble
MSgt B - Nope...and he doesn't feel sorry for himself.**
Tumpscrabble
MSgt B - Now you know where the term "birdbrain" comes from....birdbrain.
Thumpscrabble
Mrs B - Did you just call me a birdbrain?
Thumpscrabble
MSgt B - Yup.

This is where the meaningless discussion degenerated into the usual kitchen-wrestling. With her trying to splash me with dishwater, and me trying to grab some boobie.

Thumpscrabble

** Bonus points if you can name the movie.

Sunday morning sleep-in #86

Taxes are done.
Yeah, I know, last minute and all. I've had all the paperwork together since mid-February, but I just haven't had the time to sit down. I ended up dropping it all off to someone and paying them a couple hundred dollars to do it for me.
Why does the Commonwealth of Virginia only send refunds on a debit card? I'll have to make sure I use that to buy ammo whenever it gets here.

I'm not...I'm grabbing a box of 9mm and heading to the range. I'm in dire need of some recoil therapy.
